Ugh, it’s been almost a month since my last post! Sorry. I had a couple of busy weeks, then a couple of not so busy weeks in which I began to doubt my magical cookie making powers. But always thinking of my next cookie, or the next big gift holiday (Easter). So here’s what I’ve been working on. A Cherry Bakewell cookie. Being an American, I wasn’t too familiar with what a Cherry Bakewell was, so I had to look it up. I experimented with an almond flavoured sugar cookie with frangipane on top….complete disaster. So next up is an almond flavoured sugar cookie, topped with cherry jam, then marzipan, with a cherry on top. Stay tuned, I’ll let you know how it goes. For Easter, I’ve got some lovely Easter shapes: egg, two bunnies, and a chick, which I can use with my shortbread dough, pecan nut moon dough, and I’ve found a terrific sugar cookie dough. I’m thinking a black and white bunny with smarties for eyes and nose, a yellow chick, and an egg decorated with smartie flowers, because I am no artist. Also, think I might do a cookies and cream shortbread heart. Hope everyone is staying safe!
